Blue Chi's Ranch

Welcome to Blue Chi’s Ranch located in beautiful Santa Rosa Valley, California just 45 minutes from Malibu and Santa Barbara. We are a small breeder specializing in

AKC Champion Bloodline Blue Long Coat Chihuahuas.

We do on occasion get other colors such as chocolate, chocolate blues,

cream, brindle, blue brindled fawn, sable, combination colors and smooth coats.

Here at Blue Chi’s Ranch we raise

Healthy, Happy and Loving Chihuahuas that are bred to the

Chihuahua Breed Standard.

When we breed, we breed for

QUALITY, HEALTH & TEMPERAMENT

and are always looking to better the breed and to produce show quality pups,

no matter if they are placed in a pet home or a show home.

We take great pride in each and everyone of our adults and babies.

All our babies, our adult Chi’s and puppies are raised in our loving home. We do not have dog runs or kennels, all our babies play in our yard. All our babies and puppies are an important part of our family. Each and everyone of our babies and puppies are spoiled and loved by me, my husband and our four children.

Each and everyone of our adult Chihuahuas gets two complete comprehensive

exams a year. At this time they get any vaccines that are due. They get Blood Cell Count/Differential, Blood Chemistry Profile, Fecal Examination, Dental Examination, Rectal Examination, Otoscopic Examination, Ophthalmic Examination Glaucoma Examination, Urinalysis, Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrichia Test and Dewormed. Once a year they get Dental Prophylaxis, Dental Scaling, Dental Polishing, and Flouride Treatment. I also routinely deworm once a month.

We are very proud of our Chihuahua’s lineage. They come from some of the Top Champion Producing Chihuahua Breeders in the country.

WE DO NOT Sell or Breed

Teacup, Tiny Teacup, Micro Mini, Tiny Toy, Toy, Pocket Size,

Itty Bitty, Miniature, Pocket Pup, or any other name that has been come up with and placed on a Chihuahua to make it sound rare.

We breed Chihuahuas to the official AKC Breed Standard, which describes the Chihuahua as a small dog that comes in two varieties or coat types. The difference in coat type (the Long Coat or the Smooth Coat) is the only official description used to identify a difference within this breed. The Standard does not categorize the Chihuahua by size. For the purpose of showing and record keeping, the American Kennel Club includes the Chihuahua (along with 20 other breeds) in the Toy Group. Therefore, irrespective of their weight or physical stature, all Chihuahuas registered with AKC are considered to be a toy breed of dog.

Chihuahua Breed Standard

We occasionally get some that are going to stay very small but we never classify them as rare, exceptional, hard to come by or slap a label on them to promote the idea of something special. Each and everyone one of our Chihuahua’s is special all on its own. They do not need a fancy label.

Most of our puppies when full grown are between 3 ½ to 4 ½ lbs., but occasionally we will get some that are between 2 ½ to 3 ½ lbs., that are just genetically small. We do not intentionally breed to get the 2 lb. Chihuahua.

We DO NOT ever breed the so called “Designer Dog,”

(a fancy name for a mutt).

We DO NOT sell to anyone that wants to breed the so called “Designer Dog”.

We reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone that does not breed to AKC Standards or that we feel will not give the love, devotion and care for our babies the way we do.

If you are interested in a “designer dog” please visit the animal shelter or

a rescue society, they have many wonderful loving “designer dogs” in

need of a good home and love. The animal shelters and the rescue

societies have many wonderful pets for adoption. Please do not encourage

these breeders to continue mix breeding by buying a “designer dog”

at a purebred or higher price.

If interested in one of my puppies available or a future litter you will

need to complete and submit a puppy application.

All questions must be completed.

All puppies will be sold with limited AKC registration

Full registration must be pre-approved.
